Our teen program, Break It Down, completed its first fall project -- NYC's greenest haunted house, The Basement of Blood -- last week to rave reviews. Kids and grownups alike left with goosebumps after a turn through our terrifying basement. Check out our photos: Here's the recycled content rundown:
- Cardboard from the curb (lots of it)
- Astroturf found on Lafayette Street
- Fabric, paint and trimmings from Materials for the Arts
- Costumes from Buffalo Exchange
- Leaves from the park
- Rice left over from the kitchen (maggots)
- Bouncy balls (eyeballs) from Lower East Side Ecology Center
- Masks and trimmings from last year!
